A conceptual packaging design for a specialty beer release inspired by Portland, Maine's coastal identity and translated into a hand-illustrated, premium bottle label.
Craft beer packaging can easily become crowded or overly literal, especially when the product has a niche concept like an oyster stout.
The challenge was to communicate flavor, place, and personality without leaning on generic seafood or nautical cliches.
I used a hand-illustrated approach to create a more narrative-driven identity. The composition blends the Portland coastline with oysters that transition naturally into the landscape.
This let the label feel artistic and conceptual while still tying directly back to the product's origin and key ingredient. The final artwork was mocked up on a champagne-style bottle in Photoshop to push the premium, limited-edition feel.
The final result feels distinctive, elevated, and shelf-ready. It captures the spirit of Portland and the product in one cohesive visual story.
This project highlights my ability to merge illustration, branding, and product presentation into a packaging concept with both personality and polish.
